For my Q2 art 4 project I wanted to continue with abstract expressionist paintings. My goal was to continue with the rhythm I had shown in my last piece, to do more layering, and to incorporate graffiti elements into this piece. I started with doing a simple coat of shades of blue, pink, and purple for my first layer.
After that, I painted black over most of the painting and began adding a variety of colors and brushstrokes, as well as using carefully placed drips to break up the space.
Following this, I added a coat of white and black over the part of the canvas to cover the parts I didn't like, making sure to save most of the edges. Then I added more designs to the black where I thought it needed it, incorporating some texture int he paint as well.
